Tresselt GmbH is a family owned, midsize company which produces exclusively in Germany. Modern technology, motivated, highly skilled staff and investing in research and development are the basis for its continuous positive growth and development.

Tresselt GmbH was founded by Gerhard Tresselt in 1992. Initially the company maintained and repaired the centrifugal finishing systems of the former VEB Maschinenfabrik Grossbreitenbach and produced KUNZ® brand hand planes.
The company soon became a reliable contract manufacturer for renowned engineering companies in Germany. It specializes in component manufacturing and small production runs as well as complete modules and their assembly. To ensure a very high quality level a high percentage of components is manufactured in-house and finished at the company‘s lacquering facilities.

In 1996, the first modern CNC machining center went into operation. In the following years the company continued to invest in the latest technology. Today it can manufacture many different parts to customers‘ specifications on 8 ultramodern CNC machining centers.
Reliability and quality, delivery performance and price are the cornerstone of trust between the company and its customers.

Working on modern 5-axis machining centers from DMG and Hermle the data from customer drawings can be transferred directly to these centers with SolidWorks/Solidcam and appropriate post-processors which enables the company to manufacture highly precise and complex parts sized up to 1000 mm economically and accurately.

In 2002 the second generation of Tresselts, Ralf Tresselt, took over management of the company.
In 2003, the company re-introduced the production of vibratory finishing bell to the SG-series. At the INTEC 2007 in Leipzig it presented these for the first time to a wide audience. In the following years the company re-introduced the production of table vibratory finishing bell SGT 4, table vibrators GSV-10 and mass finishing drum ST-2 and  can now produce any of these according to customer specification.

Manufacturing and sales of traditional KUNZ® hand planes will continue, the tools are shipped worldwide with an export share of over 65%.

In preparation for the 100-year anniversary of KUNZ® 2010, the company developed and started the production of  KUNZ®plus hand planes.  The planes in this series combine innovative design with a new adjustment mechanism and highest possible precision in manufacturing.

In 2011 the company was certified for the quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.
